"On occasion my birthday and Mothers day fall close enough together (same weekend) that my hubby gets away with one gift! These wonderful berries arrived two days early and he wouldn’t let me try one!
They were shipped in a packaging that kept the berries nice and cool. I opened the packaging and then the box of berries. I picked one out to smell then taste my mouth was watering. Just as I was about to take a bite HE showed up. “Put it back in the box and into the fridge” he said. “Those are for your Birthday and Mothers Day today is neither!”
He does that you know, gives me stuff early and then torments me for days while I wait. This wait was especially agonizing as I knew what was in the box, I had smelled and touched them! I love chocolate and I love strawberries; this is NOT a product that is conducive to “waiting for!” They may spoil or the chocolate may melt I should start on them right away! Hubby’s response: “Yeah right, in the same fridge that stuff lasts for years until you find it.”
I made it one day and most of the rest. HE went out to the shop, me to the fridge. I snuck one out of the box and hid in the garage to consume the wonderful “thing.” It was way better than I had anticipated the strawberry juicy and chocolate shell a delight. Couldn’t possibly be that good should have another just to be sure they were not spoiling or melting or poisoned or something.
Back at the fridge, door open, box open, fingers in the proverbial cookie jar in walks HIM. I grabbed a strawberry and stuffed it into my mouth. I bit down on the wonderful tasty delight and said “you were right they didn’t melt or spoil guess they will last until tomorrow.”"
